[Opinions] slightly off topic
Konstantin is a neat viola name!I love hearing what people name their instruments. They always seem to have... substance? for want of a better word. And an air of romance.

it was weird...I hadn't named anything before, but I felt I should name my New Viola because it would be so important. I didn't try out Kostya before I bought him, but I did try out a sample from the maker, and it was incredibly rich and bold yet muted, and the names that occurred to me while waiting on Kostya were absolutely nothing like Konstantin. The frontrunners were Lionel Edward and Ermengarde Polymnia. And then when he came, nothing I had planned on fit him. He out-bolded everything. So I was taking a walk, trying to think of names, when Konstantin fell on me from the air, a name I had never thought about in my life. I had considered Constantine, but only Konstantin fit him. With a K, and no E. So that was that!It kind of honors his maker ("dad"), whose name begins with K.But I only ever call him "baby" anyway. It's really weird! I usually find this kind of treatment of objects phony and eyerollworthy, but it just happens with Konstantin: I refer to him as Konstantin and Kostya in my head. And in real life I find myself saying things like "Where's baby?" or "Don't drop baby." Shrug.Anyway, thanks!
