What do you think of Emery, for a boy?

Are emery boards a thing of the past, or will they taint this name? I feel like my grandma calls them emery boards but no one else I run into seems to.

Also, what do you think of Aram? (I say it AIR-um, but I don't know if that's correct.) Anyone know how its properly pronounced?

I like it in the combo Aram Sidney.

I'm actually starting to like this name more and more. I do think of emery boards, but it doesn't put me off!

Never heard of Aram before, it's ok though.

I don't like it because it's too similar to Emily.

I would say A-ram (short a sound in cat, not like the letter A) just by looking at it. That might be my accent though. I don't particularly like it, it's nms.

I don't think Emery sounds particularly masculine. I prefer it for a girl. Typically I don't like last name type names as fn for girls.

I immediately think of an emery board. Then again, I only call them that because my mom does, and she's older, so idk. The name, just soundwise, is pretty blah and trendy.

Aram is great, but I'm pretty sure it's pronounced ah-RAHM, not AIR-um. It's of Middle Eastern origin, meaning that the As are automatically going to be pronounced as /ah/ sounds. The second syllable is accented in a lot of Semitic languages, but I don't know about Armenian.

They're still called emery boards. I wouldn't use this on a girl or a boy, but especially on a boy because it's so close to Emily in sound and there are so many little Emilys.

Aram I don't like. It just does not sound pleasant.

I think it sounds like a milquetoast, wimpy type of guy. Not my favorite.

Aram is all right...better than Emery, anyway.
