I'm content to leave it as an old, historical name.

Generally speaking, the names of Hardy's female characters just don't convince me. Bathsheba makes me think of that custom (Puritan, I think) of opening the Bible to a random page and using the first name that appeared. That's the only way I could imagine anyone actually selecting Bathsheba in real life, and even then, if it was me, I'd "accidentally" drop it and "have to" start again until I hit on something more polite like Ruth.

I love it. It has a nice sound and looks pretty when written. It is a GP though.

For a modern person? I think it's awful. Maybe there are places where it wouldn't be awful, but I think I might lol if I was introduced to a local Bathsheba.

Do you think Bathie would work as a nickname? What if you were introduced to a local Bathie? Surely there would be no loling. On a more serious note, I'd like to add to my initial opinion that, while I like the name, I think it's too much of a mouthful not to have a nickname and I can't think of a good one, since I don't like Sheba by itself and Bathie is---well, we won't go there.

I wouldn't lol, but I might pity. Unless she was some kind of alpha female. Bathie? Urgh. Sheba would be waaaaay cooler than Bathie! IMHO.

It's interesting and glamorous in theory, but I think it's way too theatrical for a real person. Also, Sheba is a dog's name, and you don't even see dogs named Sheba anymore.

I've always really liked it. Something tells me that I shouldn't like it, because it starts with the word "bath", but in spite of that, I do like it. I'd love to see it used.
