[Opinions] Priscilla?
WDYT of this name? for me, I do think of the word prissy,(and of course Priscilla Presley comes to mind) and sometimes it reminds me of the word Godzilla, while other times I rather like it. I've never met one.

I like it. It's got a pretty, calm, friendly vibe - totally unlike the only Priscilla I've ever known, funnily enough. Could acquire the nn 'Silly" though. But I'd like to meet another one.
I like it. It's got a fun zingy sound, and yet there's something calm and grown-up and rather cool about it. I've never met one either.
I like it. I think it's pretty and underused.
I used to work with a Priscilla.
She's maybe twenty now and she looks so much like Taylor Swift that children used to panic when they saw her and scream and point.
Because of that, I have that mental image of Priscilla now.
I wouldn't use it, but it's kind of cool.
I still prefer Prisca. The Priscilla I knew had never heard of Prisca until I told her about it.

I kinda know 1. It's a pretty name... as long as the person doesn't go by Prissy which could make a person want to gag.
I really like Priscilla. It's the frilliest most princessy name I really like. Doesn't remind me of Godzilla, but does remind me of prissy ... and I don't mind the prissy association. There are worse things to be than prissy. I would even go by Pris if I were a Priscilla. Like in Blade Runner!
Prisca is interesting but I don't really go for the sound, too much like "frisky."

I actually know a few girls named Priscilla who have completely shaped my idea of the name. They have such full and bright personalities and are a bit rough around the edges so I really have trouble just dismissing this as a prissy name. Without them I don't think I would love it as much as I do.
Prissyyy. Honestly the first image that comes into my head is a pink lizard. And it's sad because J. R. R. Tolkien's daughter was named Priscilla and that's actually my first association (I'm a nerd, I know) which is positive but...not enough to sway me. I just feel like the "pris" and the "ill" rub me the wrong way sound wise so together it's just all wrong for me.
Prisca
Prisca is a much better alternative, in my opinion. It's much less glitzy than Priscilla, which is almost gaudy to me, and the "prissy" connection is less evident. It shows more restraint. You'll also avoid the Godzilla association. I could see a girl named Prisca quite easily, but it's harder to imagine a parent naming their child Priscillam which seems more suited for one of those Persian cats.

I love Prisca! :)
Totally forgot about Prisca
Prisca is very spunky. It's not for me but I'd be fine seeing a couple around. I think the last syllable takes the stress away from the "pris" to a harder "ca" ending. It's cute and less lizard-y.

Priscilla always makes me think of a movie called The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert . I've only ever watched it once and it was at least fifteen years ago but it stuck. Second association is Priscilla Presley.
I can't say I'm a fan of the name. I don't like the sound of it.

LOL, I know, you can see why I have issues ;). FWIW At the moment the name Rosalie reminds me of the words salad ressing and sleazy, go figure.
Now that you mention it I figured out why I came to Godzilla: there is a famous bridal store called Priscilla's of Boston and then there is the show Bridezilla-so I probably mixed up the two subconsciously.

A woman from my AR group named her daughter Priscilla a few years ago. She also has a son named Rupert, which I think is a good match. I've warmed up to Priscilla a little, but I still hear priss/prissy and think of cilia when I see it. I don't think I'll ever truly like it.
It strikes me that Priscilla would be a great name for a sister of a Primrose. They could be Prim and Prissy. :) Find a name that would lend itself to the nickname Prig, and the sibset would be complete.
All in all, I much prefer Drusilla: similar sound, both Roman, both uncommon, but avoiding that problematic first syllable.

I know a Priscilla in her mid twenties, we sometimes clean houses together. Very nice girl.
It's a pretty name, but people around here tend to pronounce it Percilla.

I like it a lot. It has such a sixteenth century vibe. There was a Priscilla in my high school class. I wasn't friends with her, but I knew everyone by name.
I love it! I have always thought it was very pretty. Makes me think of pink and crystal chandeliers.
What lovely imagery!
Not a fan at all. I wish I was because it was my dad's mom's name, but fortunately I do like her middle name (Frances). I also don't like the Pris part, and the Cilla part isn't much better! The only ones I know of are my Grandma and someone who has a 4 year old one. (ETA: Oh, and my husband's aunt!)

It's a distant family name for me too-I have always gone in and out of liking it but was trrying to think of something with an L and an S that ends in A...and other than Callista I can't think of (m)any. I agree, broken apart it ain't very pretty at all, but together, it has a sort of nice sound.
I like the full name Priscilla. I think it's unusual and pretty. But I hate the nn potential of Cilla so much that I could never consider using it
