What do you think of April? Too dated (70s, 80s?).

Well...I do think it's probably the most dated month name, but I don't think it's too dated for use. April is pretty, informal, and sweet, and I like it quite a bit.

I dunno... I think May and June feel WAY more dated than April. If I hear the names May and June, I immediately think old lady... and for June, I tend to think frumpy... w/ the exception of May working as a filler mn. April feels much younger and full of life.

May and June don't feel dated to me because they're being rediscovered as old-fashioned/hipsterish names. When I picture a May or June, I picture both old ladies and toddlers. When I picture an April, it's more the twenty- or thirty-something set, so, for me, it has a hint of datedness. I still think it's pretty, but I don't consider it a young name.

Ic... If I heard someone named a western kid June, I'd prob'ly be wondering what the parents were thinking... prob'ly because it strikes me as so ugly... Though Jun w/out the e in Jpns. doesn't seem so bad... just needs to be part of the name rather than the whole name.

I always associate it with cross-dressers, transsexuals, transvestites ... no idea why, but if I ever met an ordinary, middle-of-the-road April woman I'd be mildly surprised.

But then, where I live I've never met an April at all.

I've generally met Aprils who are friendly, pleasant, genuine females.

It's not in my top 10 or anything, but I like it. Don't think it gets used enough to really have a decade attached to it.

Not dated at all. April has been one of my only constant favorites for years. I love it. I think it's sweet and simple--a perfect girl's name.

I think it's very pretty. I have a little cousin named April Susan, she's seven. I think the name is simple but not plain, pretty without being fussy.

I don't like April, but April Susan is a pretty charming combo. Susan's such a pretty name. I wonder if it'll come back in soon.

I prefer Avril but I really like April. It is a very 'bright' sounding name to me.

My boss and my boyfriend's mom have both called me April within the last week, so apparently I look like one.

But I don't like it. The AYP sound isn't attractive to me. I prefer Avril.

I'll bet it's because April and Rachel sound similar. My name is April and I can not tell you how many times I have been called Rachel ;) which I don't mind cause it's a nice name.

I think it's pretty. I named my albino budgerigar that.

I don't think it's too dated, actually. It feels kind of refreshing to me.
