What do you think of Finn? I'm loving it at the moment.
Just Finn as a first name, because Finnegan makes me think of vinegar and Finlay is getting popular for girls (ugh!)

It's very yuppie and flashinthepan. I like Finn better than Finnegan and Finlay though.

it does, but just quickly. i don't think of it as a "fishy" name. i agree that Finlay on girls is a sad thing. and i also think that it's best on it's own, rather than the longer names. Finnegan, Finbar, Finlay, etc. are all a bit much.
I also like Finn better than Flynn, although the latter isn't bad, it sound more like a last name still to me.

I definitely prefer Finn to Flynn. I actually dislike Flynn, which is surprising since I like Finn so much! I think it's the Y I don't like... Fynn would be terrible too!

I like Finn better than Flynn as well. I don't dislike Flynn but I like Finn more. Flynn is a surname to me as well. Plus I prefer the sound of not having the L.

I like Finn, but almost exclusively as a nickname for a longer version, unless it's spelled Fionn which makes it look more complete to me. I do like Finnegan, but also Finnian/Finian, Finlay/Finley, Findlay, and to a certain extent Finbarr and Fintan.
ETA: Oh, and I don't think it's too fishy. It does remind me of fish, but only after I ponder the name for a bit.

Finn is very fun and doesn't remind me of fish at all. Personally, I'm not big into one-syllable full names. What about Fintan, Finnbar, Findlay, or Finnian?

I do like Finnian, but it sounds strange with my SOs last name.

I can't place it but Finn gets on my nerves. Maybe because there's a ton of Finn- names and I don't like any of them. It just sounds so boring and generic and inoffensive. It does remind me of fish, especially salmon because of the myth of Finn McCool - makes it even fishier. I don't mind the spelling Fionn, weirdly.

Ha, I didn't even get why it would make me think of fish before I read some of the other replies. So no, Finn does not make me think of fish. I kind of like the sound of it. Actually, I prefer just Finn to all the longer Fin-names.

My son is Finn and I really like it. Couldn't find a longer version we liked, but now I like it as a nn for Griffin and Finnbjorn. But my son isn't a Griffin and Finnbjorn wouldn't work outside of Norway and Sweden really, so I'm glad we went with it.

It's okay...a little trendy. I have a cat named Phin, so the name is a little stale for me. I would imagine that if I had a child named Finn, I'd get tired of it quickly.

I like it. I prefer Finnegan, though. Yes, it makes me think of a fish, but I consider that a good thing. I love animals and Finn gives me a lovely image of a fisher town, fish, the ocean, it's a nice image.

Finn makes me think of fishes as well. I also consider it a good thing. It use to bother me, but lately I've come to enjoy the fishy association. I think of fish fins, porpoise fins, shark fins, whale fins, and of oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. It makes me think of Huckleberry Finn, which is a very water based book since it takes place along a river. Fionn mac Cumhaill is also a cool hero of legend who gains knowledge from eating the Salmon of Knowledge.
My parents have a little neighbor named Finn who is just a little over 2 years old. He's a cute little boy with a head of blond curls and green eyes. I think actually interacting with a Finn rather than just seeing it around has made me have more love for it and to see that the fish association isn't a negative but a positive.
I like the name Finn / Fionn though it is a bit short. My favorites are Fintan, Finnian, Finnegas, Fingal, Finley / Finlay and Finn / Fionn. I like Finnegan and Finbar but not as much as the others.

I like it a lot. I actually prefer it to Finley, and it doesn't make me think of anything fishy.
