[Opinions] Inuyasha
in reply to a message by Liore
Inuyasha's a Japanese anime (originally manga according to Wikipedia) that I'm only really familiar with through Godawful Fan Fiction, although I have seen one or two dubbed episodes. The show's fine enough, but it didn't grab me and so I'm not a fan. But I'm telling you this because I immediately thought of Inuyasha when I saw Yasha. Also, since the show's named after its main male character, so to me Yasha seems rather masculine. I believe Inuyasha has something of a following in NA, so I'd be a little wary about using Yasha because of that... but it all depends how you feel about that.Wikipedia says Inuyasha literally means "dog night [male?] part demon" in Japanese/Sanskrit. Yasha is also apparently Japanese for "forest spirit".EDIT: And, belatedly, I see Yasha's also a male name in Russian: a pet form of Yakov, the Russian form of Jacob / James.
