[Opinions] New favorite BA
One of my college professors gave birth to her first child last week. Her name is Seneca Naomi. Seneca is in honor of Seneca Village, which was the first congregation of free African-American landowners in what is now Central Park in New York City, and also for Seneca Falls, New York, home of the Women's rights convention in 1848. I absolutely love this BA because not only is it a beautiful name, but her mother is a professor of African-American and women's studies and has written several books and essays on both subjects. I also think that Seneca definitely fits a girl even though it's historically a male given name. I had been anxiously awaiting to hear the name, and I have to say I am not disappointed in the slightest.

Love it and that it is meaningful for her. Also, Naomi is a favourite of mine. I would not have been disappointed in the least, either.

I actually love Seneca on a girl, but it's a total GP and I grew fond of it because of a (female) video game character with the name.

Lovely name. I have always thought of Seneca as being more feminine than masculine, so I'm glad to see it on a girl. And Naomi goes well with it.

I like it. Seneca Naomi is lovely. My only issue is that Seneca will always be a male name to me. It was actually my chorus instructors's name in middle school. Well, after we made the first one run screaming from the room. :)
