[Opinions] Emery

I kind of like it for a boy, but not for a girl. It also bothers me that it sounds like a mispronunciation of Emily, and it does remind me a little bit of emery boards. But as I get used to the name I'm losing that association.
it has a scratchy feel...
I file my nails with emery boards.

I don't think it sounds or feels feminine at all. The only Emery/Emorys I've ever known were boys. On a girl it would feel really trendy, like just another uncommon boy's name that has a softer sound so people think it can be a girl's name now.

I think it would seem just as trendy on a boy, to be honest. It's the same name, the same sound. It kind of sounds like Em+Marie so I can see why people use it on girls.
It wouldn't to me. No matter which spelling you use it feels very historical to me. I link it with Emmerich and the Normans.
Oh ok. Just because it's exactly the same name. I couldn't find something with a long history trendy on a girl and historical on a boy, but I guess that's just me :P
A different feel? Maybe; but all I can feel in my imagination is a file across my nails.
