Wil and I recently married after dating for five years (3 in college and 2 afterwards). Wil is a wonderful man. He is everything I could ever ask for in a husband-compassionate, caring, protective, attentive, and he listens to me. I think we will have a great marriage. Wil has dark brown hair, almost black. My hair is on the other end of the brown spectrum-almost a blond. We share green eyes, though mine are darker than Wil's. I like that Wil is a few inches taller than I am.
Wil and I had a fairy tale wedding. We had the wedding in the church we both attend. My mom and I arranged most of the wedding, but we let Wil pick out what kind of food to have and some of the flowers to decorate with. One surprise was that Mom arranged for us to get to and from the church in a horse drawn carriage! I was so surprised. I think Wil was in on it though, because he didn't seem too surprised when we left the church in the same carriage. I wore the traditional white gown. It was a long, flowing dress that didn't have much of a train, but it was gathered up in the front to reveal my solid white petticoat and the lace covering on top of it. Wil and I picked out some jewelry for me to wear--a diamond studded necklace with matching earrings. I had three bridesmaids--two my sisters and one my best friend. I didn't have a specific 'maid of honor', but my bridesmaids took turns doing important things for me. They wore light pink. Wil wore a crisp new tuxedo. We bought it so he would have something ultra-formal to wear when the need should arise. His men of honor (I'm not sure what to call them, having not been to a wedding since I was nine) wore their rented tuxedos and everything went great. The flower girls were Wil's twin cousins, Laurie and May, who are only five. The ring bearer was my nephew, Jason, who is six. There were a ton of people there-some of whom I didn't even know. Those were either Wil's family members I hadn't met, or some of my mom's old friends. After the wedding, we had a short reception at a local fancy restaurant. By then, it was nearly 3 pm. The carriage transported us to and from the restaurant as well.
Our lovely horse drawn carriage took us to Wil's parent's house. Both sets of parents met us there and we changed into more comfortable clothes. From there, Wil had ordered a white stretch limo to take us to the airport. The limo was so cool. I'd never been in one before. The trip to the airport seemed to take no time at all. That was okay though, because I was more excited about going to England. Wil and I decided to plan our honeymoon to England all by ourselves without any outside assistance. We stayed in the Country for two weeks and traveled to London, Bristol, Stonehenge, and all of those lovely -------Shires in the English countryside. We rented a cabin in the woods for a few days. It rained all those days, but we were more than happy to stay inside talking and playing board games.
We moved into our very own house after honeymooning. Both of our families came over and helped us unpack, paint, and clean. All that remains to do is the landscaping. My brother and Wil's two brothers are coming over next weekend to help us with that. Our house is a picturesque victorian house. It's big and about 100 years old, but still sturdy. We repainted the outside together before we got married and we also planted some trees outside. We found a collection of odd antiques in the attic that everyone has seemingly forgotten about. So far, we've figured there's about $300 of things up there--old photographs, lamps, furniture, paintings. I think everything is worth more than the $300 we've valued so far, but we don't want to rush anything. Besides, everything is so pretty and in good condition that Wil and I moved some of it into the living areas of the house. We had to re-upholster the chairs and sofa, but they look lovely in the sitting room. Our house is located only about ten miles from my parents' house and twenty or so miles from Wil's parents' house.
We have exciting news to announce! I'm pregnant with our first child! Wil and I are very excited about becoming parents, but we are also a little nervous. We haven't even been married for a year yet. We've already settled on a location for the baby's nursery--the big, airy bedroom in the back of the house that looks out on our spacious backyard. Wil and I have decided that we don't care what the baby's gender is--only that it is healthy. That's why I'm busy now reading up on baby care and what to do while you're pregnant to ensure your child is healthy. Wil is very concerned and comes home early from work at least twice a week to check on me and see how I'm doing.((Sorry its a little long, but I got on a roll and suddenly one paragraph turned into two, then five...lol))
