[Games] Re: Year Game

Amedeo and Jelena Halloran (nee Nedvedova) are a newly married couple currently living amongst the expat community in Moscow, Russia. Amedeo is originally from London, in England, whilst Jelena is originally from Brno, in the Czech Republic, although her mother was Russian. Amedeo and Jelena met and got married in the city. Amedeo is twenty seven, with black, wavy hair and hazel eyes; he works as a judge, but would prefer to work on human rights cases and corruption rather than the somewhat dubious cases he is currently preciding over - he tries to his best, anyway. Lena is twenty five and a newly qualified doctor, working towards her specialty. She has medium length, straight, auburn red hair and brown eyes.
Year 1; Pet. Not quite ready to discuss having children straight away, Amedeo and Jelena decide to get a pet; not only to test the waters, so to speak, but also because Amedeo grew up around animals and has dedicated a fair amount of time to persuading his wife that every household is better with an animal. They get a small, sandy coloured hamster and name him Shura.
Year 2; Unplanned pregnancy. Jelena falls pregnant in the second year, shortly after deciding to work towards a specialty in neurology. Needless to say, with so much already on her plate, she's somewhat flustered by the discovery. Amedeo is slightly more pleased, although they both agree that children could have waited a bit longer. Jelena gives birth to a son who will have black, straight hair and brown eyes. They name him August Leonard Halloran.
Year 3; Travel. The family travel to Peru, as it has always been a dream of Jelena's to see Manchu Piccu... perhaps not whilst clutching a squirming one year old, but it doesn't diminish from the experience. They also visit the Huascaran National Park. August is very well behaved, and Jelena is very happy to visit a country she has so long dreamed of seeing.
Year 4; Pet. Jelena and Amedeo buy August a pet gecko for his birthday. He is only allowed near the little lizard under adult supervision, but is fascinated with the creature. They call him Misha.
Year 5; Family trip to the zoo. Jelena, Amedeo and August go to the zoo. August particularly likes the reptile exhibitions.
Year 6; Birth. Jelena and Amedeo decide that it might be nice for August to have a younger brother or sister. They end up having a daughter, with auburn red wavy hair and blue eyes, like her maternal grandmother. They decide to name her Andromeda Sasha Halloran.
Year 7; Move. Jelena is offered a chance to study neurology in depth at an American medical school, and Amedeo no longer feels like he has any faith in the Russian judicial system. Besides, their small flat in a super-busy, super-polluted capital might not be the best place to raise children. The USA offers much better prospects. August kicks up a fuss, but his parents' minds are decided.
Year 8; Big Birthday Bash. Amedeo turns thirty five. It seems like a good reason to get all of their new American friends together and have a party.
Year 9; Birth. The Halloran family welcome another daughter. Genetically predetermined to have curly brown hair and blue eyes, they initially wonder if giving her a 'blue' name to suit her striking eyes might be fitting, and Jelena likes the name Nila, but then they stumble upon Xanthe and it fits even better. They name her Xanthe Matilda Halloran.
Year 10; Business Trip. Amedeo is chosen to precede over an important court case and is out of the family home for weeks. Jelena finds herself explaining the judicial system to her young children far too much for comfort.
Year 11; Adoption. When one of their friends adopts a little girl from China, Amedeo and Jelena find themselves considering it too - and eventually decide that it might be a nice idea. They adopt from Russia - after all, both Amedeo and Jelena speak the language - and soon welcome Tamara Marinovna "Toma". Toma has straight blonde hair and hazel eyes and is four years old. She is shy and doesn't speak any English, but since both of her adoptive parents are patient and speak fluent Russian, she soon settles in well and begins to learn her new language. Jelena wants to give Toma a new middle name, and they pick out the new name together - Tamara Nyx Halloran.
Year 12; Birth. Jelena falls pregnant again. Although both Amedeo and Lena were worried that Toma would be spooked by this sudden change, she's perfectly fine - and besides, gets along swimmingly with her other adoptive siblings. It's another daughter born in the height of winter for the Hallorans. They name the green-eyed, brown-haired newcomer Hermione Iris.
Year 13; Promotion. Jelena is promoted to the head of neurology in the hospital in which she works. On one hand, she is delighted; on the other, worried as to the stress that this brings.
Year 14; Birth. Just as she's settling into her new job, Jelena becomes pregnant once more. Amedeo jokes that he has a feeling that this is another girl. Jelena is unhappy and worried that she might lose her new position, but the hospital is surprisingly understanding. As Amedeo predicted, the family welcomes another daughter, this one fated to have black curly hair and hazel eyes, the spitting image of her father. They name her Zenobia Rosalind, but the nickname "Zena" just falls into place.
Year 15; Adopt a stray. Shura the hamster unfortunately passes away, and the children are very sad. Fortunately in the summer of the same year, the Hallorans are adopted by a stray cat. After getting her checked over, vetted and vaccinated, they welcome her into their home and name her Pandora - Andromeda's suggestion. As these things happen, the tortoiseshell and white cat soon becomes known as endless nicknames, Pan chief among them.
Year 16; Pet. The family get another cat, a kitten given to them by a friend. Amedeo is initially worried that semi-feral Pan will tear it to pieces, but the older lady cat takes very warmly to the little ginger bundle of fluff. They name him Jasper, inevitably Jazz, Jazzy and even the pet-name they gave him while they were thinking of what to name him - Snugs - because Lena thinks it's just too adorable. Pan and Jazz are inseparable and all the children love them.
Year 17; Someone dies leaving you the guardian of their children. Jelena's brother and sister in law, Petr and Edita Nedved die in a tragic plane accident, leaving Jelena in custody of their children. She's initially reluctant, but her parents insist that she would be a better mother than they can be at their time of life, what, with grandfather Nedved being deaf and sickly and grandmother Nedved wanting to enjoy her twilight years and be a grandmother, not a mother, and that means Petr and Edita's bereaved children are reluctantly shipped off to the US. That is, identical twin girls and their younger brother. Zora Magdalena and Olivie Izabela Nedvedova are five years old, whilst Viktor Edvard Nedved is three. Zora and Olivie have long wavy brown hair and brown eyes, whilst Viktor has curly brown hair and blue eyes. None of the children are, as is to be expected, happy about their situation.
Year 18; Pet. August rescues an injured turtle and is allowed to keep it as a pet, on the condition that he doesn't let it near certain curious cats. He names it Dash.
Year 19; Car Accident. August starts taking driving lessons, but it isn't long before he gets in an accident... swerving to avoid a fox trotting across the road. Fortunately both him and his instructor escape with very few injuries - August has a fractured wrist and the instructor a few bruises. It is generally agreed that maybe it's best if August doesn't take to the road for a while.
Year 20; Adoption. Jelena and Amedeo decide to adopt for perhaps one last time. They adopt a child from Peru, where they went all those years ago, a boy of nine years of age with curly black hair and green eyes. His name is Gabriel Isidoro and the couple decide it suits him just fine. August heads off to university to study to become a vet or zoologist.
Year 21; Somebody is ill. Xanthe falls ill with meningitis. Fortunately due to Amedeo and Jelena's quick realisation of what is wrong and her quick hospitalisation, she benefits from speedy damage management. She recovers well, although she is still ill for quite a long time and endures a tedious hospital stay.
Year 22; Adoption. Jelena and Amedeo decide to adopt yet again - from Africa, this time. They adopt brown-eyed, black-haired six year old fraternal twin boys from Algeria, named Zahir and Sulaiman. They pick out the middle names Maximilian and Atticus. Andromeda is accepted into an illustration and fine art academy.
Year 23; Broken bone. Whilst playing around with Zee and Manny as they have become known, Viktor falls over and breaks an arm. Jelena tells him off, but there are no long-term consequences.
Year 24; Travel. Leaving August and Andromeda in charge of the kids, Amedeo and Jelena decide to go on a trip. They visit Indonesia, and have a relaxing week and a half away from the stresses of home and work.
Year 25; Family Reunion. The family head over to London, where they meet up with other members of the Halloran family.
Year 26; Move. August moves out of the family home to live with his girlfriend. Toma decides to go on a gap year, backpacking around Asia. Xanthe receives a scholarship to study nursing.
Year 27; Birth. August and his girlfriend, a science teacher with brown curly hair and blue eyes named Ivy Alexandria Zelenka, welcome their first child. Niobe Josephine Halloran has curly red hair and brown eyes.
Year 28; Promotion. Amedeo is promoted to a high level human rights court. The family are delighted - it's always been a long term goal of his.
Year 29; Adopt a stray. The family adopt a third cat in need of a home. Albert is shy, timid and has had a hard life, but it's not long before Pan, Jasper and Bertie are all curled up somewhere, snoozing away. Pandora and Bertie fight occasionally, but it's never anything serious.
Year 30; Unplanned pregnancy. Andromeda falls pregnant and Jelena is apoplectic until Amedeo points out that she's not a little girl any more and it's her life choice. Andra decides to keep and raise the child, despite the absentee father. She gives birth to fraternal twin boys. Felix Ignatius has wavy brown hair and brown eyes, and Adam Jude has straight brown hair and green eyes.
