I like Donald. Anyway I probably won't come up with anything that hasn't already been said but I don't feel like reading through them all this late. Some might depend on pronounciation as well since some people say it more like dahn and others like dawn.

I have always loved it.

I like Don, but I dislike Donald as well. Don on its own seems fine to me, and there's also Donovan, which has already been mentioned. Donovan is a handsome name.

You could do a whole bunch of things with Don.
There are obviously the names that begin with don- such as:
Donal
Donovan
Donatien

Or a whole range of names that end in -don like:
Brandon
Jadon
Gordon
Langdon
Landon
Eldon
Sheldon

Or you could go out there with some pretty uncommon names like Adonis and Sidonius.
