What does everybody think of the name Enid? I'm starting to really like it.

Sweet Valley Twins. She's one of Elizabeth's friends. It still feels like an old fashioned name to me, even though the character reference is a positive one.

I like it too. A very old name, a bit grandma, but I like it.

"I can work overtime / I can work in a mine...""I can do it all for you / But I don't want to!"Sorry, all I can think of when I hear Enid is the song by Barenaked Ladies. :-)

LooooveThis is one of my longest standing name loves :) I liked this one all the way back when I was like 14 and thought I'd made it up, lol, It's not in my top 10 anymore but I'd still happily consider it if it was something both my SO and I could agree on. And I'd be delighted for someone else to use it :)

Oklahoma...Welcome to Enid, Oklahoma. Not a bad place, but that is what enters my mind.

I think it's cute.

I adore it. It's kind of clunky in a charming way, yet it also has a softness about it.

I adore Enid. It's just the sort of romantic, WWII era, sensible shoes kind of name. And the sound packs a punch. Plus, there's the possibility of the adorable nn Edie.Enid Morwenna is my stock combination for her.

Yes, I like it. What's with everyone posting about the nerdy sounding E names on my list? :PI had a character with the name, but ended up having to change it-- I do like the name but it has a completely different personality than the character. She ended up a Zoe.

I don't think it sounds very nice at all. There is a book by Lois Lowry called "Taking Care of Terrific" and the main character is a girl named Enid. She goes on at some length to explain why she hates the name Enid: because so many ugly words end in id. Humid, rancid, sordid, viscid, squalid, horrid. At the very end of the book, she thinks of "splendid" and maybe changes her opinion of the name, but stil..
