What do you think of Thais for a girl? Pronounced tah-EES. I know one who is from Brazil.

I love Thais! Although I would never say it right. tah-ees is nicer than my guess, which rhymes with "face". I love how otherworldly it seems. So delicate.

I want to like it, but sorry, I'm not a fan. I have a very unfortunate association with a girl named Thaïs, who was also from Brazil. She was a bossy know-it-all, and she was way too big for her britches.
It's not a bad name by any means, but it just doesn't have enough flavour for me. If I met someone else's child with that name, and she had a different personality, I think I'd appreciate it a lot more than I do.
