I am really liking the name Peter at the moment. It fits in with loads of other names I like, such as Oscar, Jasper and Arthur. It's my Dad's name, so I would only use it as a middle name. What's your opinion of Peter?
Any combo suggestions with Peter as a middle name?

It's ok. It doesn't get me all excited or anything, but it's a decent name and not overused. I like Pierre and Pedro better, but Peter works. Our fam knows a Thomas Peter.Joseph Peter

Peter is a favorite of mine, and it is in my top 3. I would easily use it if my partner liked it.My favorite combos are Peter Samuel and Peter Edwin.

My brother is Peter so I'm biased. But it's always been my unshakable, #1 favorite boy's name. Then I grew up and married a Peter (but he goes by Pete, thank goodness, or I'd be in therapy right now). Peter (as a name) is classic, intelligent and clean. :-)Combos:Lachlan Peter

My Dad goes by Pete as well. I like Peter but I don't really like Pete.I like your suggestions of Ronan Peter, Finlay Peter (I do love Finlay!) and Gregory Peter. I like the idea of Rory as a nickname for Gregory, I wouldn't have thought of that!

Glad you liked them. :-)I much prefer Peter to Pete as well. But then I'd be married to my brother, so I'm actually grateful dh uses the nn. :-P

I've never liked it. I think it's because I don't like long Es in names. I also grew up with a bunch of Petes, so I suppose I'm sick of it. Pete. Yuk.But if it's in the middle name slot to honor your father, I'd be all for it.

I love Peter. I can't completely describe the feel it gives but I'll try. It has a sweet, simple-folk feel - the good qualities of simple folk, not stupidity but the simple pleasures of life, basking in the senses and keeping your own farm in the country. Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit. England. Europe as a whole.Also, the Russian form, Pyotr, was Tchaikovsky's name. I love him. Combos!Leonard Peter

Frederick Peter and Rowan Peter are really nice. Unfortunately I can't use Frederick (or any name which could have Fred, Ed, Ned or Ted as a nickname), otherwise it would be my top favourite!
