Sure most English speakers would probably guess it's Addle-ayda, but it's not a common English usage name and so there's no common English usage pronunciation except the "I guess it's Adelaide with an A on it" and that is why I do not like it (I think the A on the end looks non-English, since Adelaide is the usual English form - and so it seems much nicer to me if it is pronounced the foreign way). Hannah, Sarah, and Nicole are common English usages. That's why I'm making a distinction. To me, Adelaida pronounced Adelaide-a seems much like Jorge pronounced like George.

Hmmm I disagree. Sure it's not common, but I don't think many people think of it as a foreign name as it is the case with Jorge. Most probably think it's an elaborated English form of Adelaide.
