... cause I checked my Facebook real quick, and I have eight friends with the name. I know there are more, too, because a number of them go by Carrie/Carly/Cari or some other nickname. It's certainly common where I'm from.

Ditto. I checked and I have 6 FB friends named Caroline, and I know I know a lot more than that IRL. Maybe it's regional? Are you from the South, perchance?

it's in the top 20 in some states, maybe in yours? It is one of the names that is quite common in a handful of states (top 20) and very uncommon in others (not in the top 100).
