I'm a sucker for Hedwig. It's so in your face self-confident. "Yeah. My name is Hedwig. So?" It's quirky and fun. Plus, the nn Hedy reminds me of beautiful Hedy Lamarr.

I love Hedwig, especially because it lends itself to the nickname Hedy.

The pet-owl connection is tolerable, but the ear/head-wig isn't.
So I'll take some time and figure out if it's worth it :)

I like this name. Hedwig makes me think of Harry Potter's owl, and Hedvig makes me think of my little bunny named that and with that spelling.

Ugly ugly ugly. Sounds exactly like head wig to me, and of course you wear a wig on your head, where else?

I think of a white owl in a cage. On its own, it's a good name. It isn't pretty, but it has that cute, clunky feel.

It reminds me of earwig :(

I think it's perfect for a snowy owl. I suppose it could come back, since more people know about it from Harry Potter, but most people would think of it as a pet.
