The first time I heard Cassiopeia was in the 1981 "Clash of the Titans", and then it was pronounced CASS-ee-o-PAY-uh. I've pronounced it that way ever since.
As far as "Cass" names are concerned, I actually prefer this as a first name to Cassandra, though the latter is far more common.
