[Surname] English surname "Type"
It has been a long time since I was away. Well, now I'm back. A surname that I came across long ago was Type, a British surname from Southern England. This surname seems to appear more in Devon, but the meaning of the name perplexed me for a long time. Maybe it it related to the surname Tipp, a form of Theobald, but the surname Type is also found in France. I have rediscovered this surname in my old files, I have come to share it with you guys.

Perhaps it may have derived from the Old English name Tæppa. Variants include Tapp, Tape, and these surnames are also found in Devon.
