[Opinions] Re: Emmeline
in reply to a message by Lily
I pronounce it EM-eh-line.I like all the pronunciations but EM-eh-linn is my least favorite.I don't think it will sound dated but I think it seems a little boring since it is so similar to Emma and Emily which are so common that I find them to be fairly boring. I think Emma and Emily will sound dated but probably not Emmeline.I prefer the spelling Emmeline. Emmaline is okay but it looks a bit like an altered form of Emma, rather than a separate name in its own right.I love the combo Emmeline Pearl. It is so soft and feminine with a hint of old-fashioned charm. Its colors are soft blues, greens, pinks, and pearly white. This name isn't quite my style but I feel like it is a great combo if you want something sweet and feminine with old-fashioned charm, but it isn't overly girly. Also I like the nn Emmie / Emmy because it has a little more spunk. Emmy reminds me of the spunky name Amy.I fully support the use of the combo Emmeline Pearl.
