[Surname] Curry
The character Aquaman, Arthur Joseph Curry... Anyone knows what "Curry" means in this case? I mean, it is a surname and it seems to be an English surname... Anyone knows the etymology? It is not in the database...

You'll find the origin of Curry at http://www.ancestry.com/name-origin?surname=curry.
And I thought Jim Young's contribution was a good one... Yours is much better! I would haver suspected "spear"! Thanks! :D
Wikipedia says it is "kitchen worker" or "son of Murdoch" but nothing certain... anyone knows better?
Comhraidhe is also given as an option but no meaning for Comhraidhe is given
The surname Currie was adopted by some Scottish Gaels who were originally called MacMhuirich, on account of the latter name being pronounced 'Acurrie' in the Gaelic dialect of the area in which they lived. MacMhuirich is a patronymic based on the old Irish male given name Muiredhach, which in Scotland was anglicised Murdoch or Murdo. I believe that another Gaelic forname, Murchadh, was also anglicised as Murdo(ch), but I'm not certain.
The original Curries derived their surname from a place name of the Edinburgh district.

Thanks! I will check the etymology of that! :D
Perhaps there is of Italian origin, a variant from the Italian surname Curri. There is also a possibility of a French origin, and a Middle Eastern/Asian origin. I'll look further into it them sometime later.
one of the options already links cury with Murdoch that means "mariner" and since aquaman is an aquatic character I guess the authors knew this because that possibility fits the character very well..
