[Opinions] Silvia or Sylvia?
Which spelling of Sylvia do you prefer and why? Put "Sylvia" or "Silvia" as the subject and maybe an explanation in the message text. Thanks!

Sylvia, because......it was my grandma's name. :)

SilviaIt's very international, charming, smooth. I also like the 'y' spelling but it reminds me a little of old ladies and moth-bitten curtains. Not sure why.

SylviaI prefer Sylvia, but Silvia is decent. Sylvia just looks more vivacious.

SylviaTo me, the difference between Sylvia or Silvia is like the difference between Lydia and Lidia. They seem to have different styles. I think people would more automatically spell these names with a "y", as it is more known to be spelled that way.
I know a little girl named Sylvia -- she is adorable! She spells it with a "y". I think spelling it with an "i" is pretty too, but I like the look of Sylvia a tiny bit better. Overall, a beautiful name. I think it sounds pixie-like. :)

SilviaI am more partial to this spelling because of the Shakespeare poem. But I like both spellings.

Sylvia.Just like the look of the y below the line.

SylviaSimply: I think it looks a whole lot nicer and fresher than Silvia.

I like both very much, but Silvia wins by a whisker on the grounds that it's Shakespearean, seems less dated than Sylvia, and has a silvery vibe.

SylviaNo good reason - it's entirely subjective. Boys names like Silvester, I prefer the 'i' spelling.

Silvia looks like the words "saliva" and "salvia"

Sylvialooks less like silver. Idk. I just prefer the look of it with the y sticking out there.

SilviaI don't like the look of the Y written down. Plus I like that it looks like silver.

SylviaI really like them both equally, but I would choose Sylvia because it's more English and I could use Sylvie as the nickname.

SilviaSilvia, since it looks similar to Silver (a GP of mine, and just a pretty association). Sylvia looks more harsh, and I'm generally not fond of names with 'y' in the middle.
