[Opinions] Tuesday
Do you think Tuesday could work in real life? I've always had a soft spot for it. I also like Wednesday but it's maybe too Addams Family-ish. There was an actress named Tuesday in the 60s so I guess her name is a little bit more well known than most of the other day names. Wednesday is obviously familiar too, and I guess Sunday thanks to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.I also like the name Day and I guess it could be used as a nickname for all of them.Usable or completely crazy? What do you think a parent who gave their kid a day name would be like? What do you think of the other day names? Which could work in real life? Which ones don't work at all and why?Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
SundayOpinions?

I think it can work, I graduated with a Maggie Tuesday. I kind of like Tuesday and Wednesday as well, but I do think they're a little silly as names. It's fun to think about, though. I think Sunday and Friday are also kind of usable as names.

Keep days of the week as days of the week.It would be like that dictator in Turkmenistan who named days and months after himself in reverse.

I don't see how it would be like that at all to be honest.

It could but personally I find week day names silly.

I think it's fine. Silly, but pretty cute. I think they're all usable except maybe Thursday, and only that because it's uglyish. Friday is such a cool word I'm surprised it's not used more.I know a little Wednesday, as I've mentioned. She's 9 and one of the coolest kids ever. She walked dogs with me a couple weeks ago, actually, and complained while I was walking Brutus that the shelter should give them better names. "I think you should give dogs names you like but can't give to people," she said. Kinda funny coming from a Wednesday, I thought.I asked what she would name Brutus and she said "Um... anything but Brutus!" and then cracked up. And then she ran off to see the name of the dog her dad was walking, and almost peed herself when she found out it was "Barb."Uhh yeah. Day as a nickname is a little contrived but I guess it works. Anyway, Tuesday's cute, I think it would be pretty easy to bear. The parents would be a little self-consciously weird, which is just fine...

Yeah, I guess it could work. I prefer Wednesday, though, Addams Family and all. I think it sounds cuter.Friday and Sunday are the only other day names that could work, IMO.

The actress you're thinking of is Tuesday Weld. Her real name was Susan, I think, but apparently she couldn't pronounce it when she was little and what she said sounded vaguely like Tuesday and so it became her stage name.I think day of the week names are ridiculous, really. Tuesday's Gone, as Lynyrd Skynyrd said.I have occasionally seen Day or Dae used for a middle name, and it has the right filler sound if that's what you're looking for.

I think it's out there, but not unusable. Personally, I'd way rather be a Tuesday or meet a Tuesday than be/meet another of the top ten names. So, if you a confident person who will be able to handle a few odd looks, I say do it! From most usable to least:
Wednesday (but boy would it suck to learn to spell!)
Tuesday
Friday
Monday
Sunday
Thursday
SaturdayAnd yes, Day would make a great nickname.

I think it could work, but it's definitely one of those names people notice. I met a Tuesday once at a middle school state Science Olympiad competition. She's the only one though. One time when I was in high school and worked at Burger King, I wrote "Tuesday" on my nametag for fun. I had one person smile at"my name," in a complimentary way.Sunday is really the only other day name I think is very usable.

I like Tuesday and I think it's perfectly usable, more so than Wednesday actually. I also like Monday and Sunday.

To be honest, I think days as names are ridiculous. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to be named after a day of the week. None of them work. I'm sorry if this wasn't the answer you were looking for but it's my opinion.

I think any of them could work really. I've always have had a soft spot for Thursday personally.

The only day names I like are Wednesday (but yes, too Addams Family) and Sunday. I've actually loved Sunday for a long time before Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban had their kid. It always makes me a little sad when a celebrity uses a name I like. I don't think Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday could be used realistically. They either don't sounds like real names (to me) or they're too tied into pop culture.
