[Opinions] Re: September / Sentyabrina
I want to like Sentyabrina... but I don't. All I can think of is some of the odd names which cropped up during the early Soviet eras. I don't know why it has that feel to me. Perhaps it makes me think of Октябрина / Oktyabrina.I do kind of like Oktyabrina without the association. Oktya and Otya are adorable nicknames for it. Oktyabrin (m) is cool as well. I think it's more Soviet but somehow better than Sentyabrina.Perhaps it's that Oktyabrina is an acknowledged, if increasingly rare, name, whilst Sentyabrina seems a bit of a one-off oddity. What next?
Ноябрина / Noyabrina (November)?
Декабрина / Dekabrina (December)?Okay, maybe I'm overacting, and Sentyabrina isn't bad, I just love it. It's odd, but it now occurs to me that Maiya/Майя could be influenced by 'mai' in some way and that there's not a world of difference between Avgusta/Августа and 'avgust', even if that wasn't the original root. Septemberine is a new OTT, silly, amazing GP for me. I mean, I could never use it, it is kind of silly, but it's still very pretty! September doesn't do it for me, but I might one day like Sentyabrina and I really like Septemberine!

Ha, I love Oktyabrina too. Funny how that works. I wish they had those for every month; I tend to think Russian months are prettier than English months.
