I don't care for it at all. What's wrong with Magdalen / Magdalene / Magdalena nn Mags?

I severely dislike it. Trendy cotton candy that doesn't even have a good sound.Magdalena is better.Magdalie looks and sounds a little bit like malady.Magdaleigh makes me want to punch someone.Magdalee makes me want to cry.

I can't see the point, frankly. You'd be condemning yourself and your child to a lifetime of identical explanations of the No-it-sin't-Magdalen-actually variety, though you could just as well use Magdalen and have Magdalie/Mags as a pleasantly off-the-wall nn.The other spellings look cheap.

I actually really like Magdalie. :) Wouldn't use it myself (although I love Magdalene, Magda, Maggie, Rosalie & Coralie) but would enjoy seeing it on a little girl. I think it's cute. Got a bit of spunk too, especially with the nn Mags.

Thanks everyone andThanks everyone. I don't know if it's because Huck is about to turn 1, but I've been thinking about the possibility of having another. My Grandpa joked the other day that we didn't have a kid named after him, and I'd like to do that if we do have another child. His name is Max Leland, my MN is Leigh. I can't find a "Max" girl name I like, but like the idea of Max and his granddaughter Mags. The "Lee" sound is for the first part of his MN and mine.

Hm, I like it, I don't see why people are so uptight about it. The confusing with Magdalen/e is a problem, but given that your children are named Caemlyn and Huckleberry, I don't think that's your biggest concern :PMagdalie is definitely the nicest spelling. Magdalee is okay but it looks like a double name, and Magdaleigh is super cumbersome. I am sort of drawn by the spelling of Magdali, for some reason? but I guess that looks like mag-Dolly

Cool! I really dislike Magdalen for it's heaviness. Magdalie avoids that entirely. Plus Magdalen is not exactly common, so I don't think people would get that confused. Yup, I think it's a keeper. Magdalie - great
Magdalee - looks dumbed down
Magdaleigh - is too trendeigh looking
Someone suggested Magdali. I like that too.
