Hi, am tracing my family tree & wondered if anyone knew the mans forename Nash, whether it is a derivative of another name?

The Oxford Dictionary of English Surnames (1997) has:
"from a place called Ash or Nash or 'dweller by the ash-tree'"

The Oxford Dictionary of English Place-names (1998)adds: "… with initial N from ME 'atten' (at the)."
