[Opinions] True
Just been pondering this as a name lately. WDYT? Would you spell it Tru or True? Gimme your best combos... go wild... I feel like this one lends itself well to fun pairings, however Hollywood they may ultimately sound ;)

meh... not really fond of it as a name... it feels like it's missing something... Why not go w/ Verity... It MEANS truth, but is more substantial as a name.
However, if one must, at least spell it right.

I agree with abbasdaughter. I like Verity in its place.
I like True as a Virtue name, but like it best as a middle name. As a first name it's a bit harder to pair without sounding terribly silly.

I agree - and spell it True
I agree that it sounds better as a middle name (kind of like Rue, another one you could use instead). Also, that way if they don't like it, they don't have to use it and vice versa!
I definitely think it's better spelled True. Tru looks like a brand name. I personally really dislike it when people change the spelling of word/place names to make them more (I'm guessing) name-like or name-worthy. If you want to name your kid London or Rain, I say name them London or Rain, not Londynn or Londin, Rayne or Raein or something (sorry Rainn Wilson! I actually think your name looks kinda cool - see, even I break my own rules! haha). But in general, everyone knows where the name came from, and it doesn't make it more of a "Name" to change the spelling, rather the opposite.
Sorry, I rant!

Tru looks like a nickname for Truman to me, and therefore more masculine.
I agree -- it is nothing but masculine to me. I think of it as a stand alone name though, just True. And yes, True not Tru...Tru is not a name. True has a very personal connotation for me so I really like it.
