[Opinions] Marina
I never really considered it because weirdly enough it was kind of popular in my area and I had two in the same class at one time, both were kind of annoying. But that was quite some time ago and I have only met three others since, one was Japanese. So I would say in total it's actually underused. What do you think of Marina?Marine is the French form and I met one years ago. Do you prefer it over Marina?

I love Marina. I've liked it ever since I read the play Pericles.I don't like Marine as well as Marina. It reminds me of the military Marines.

Marina is the name of one of my best friends, so I automatically think of her. She's the only Marina I've ever met. I do think it's pretty, and I like it better than Marine.

& the Diamonds. Is my first thought. Then a boat marina. It's a nice name, I've just never really loved it. To closely associated with the marina for me to really consider it a name.

I had a friend in high school with this name. She was of Italian descent . I really liked it on her.

I love Marina! It's just outside my top 10. It would be much higher if I didn't have a Noah. Sometimes I think there's a nice watery connection between the two names. Most of the time, I'm afraid Noah and Marina in the same sibset just screams "boats," and it's too much. I prefer Marina over Marine.

I love it. It's been in my top 5 girls names for several years now, and I'd definitely consider using it.

I absolutely love it! I think it's just gorgeous. I love names ending in -eena, and I love Mar- names so Marina is pretty fantastic to my ear. It's too close to my own name for me to use I think, I've met a Marina or two who used the nickname Mary/Mari.

I LOVE Marina. Love love love it. I would definitely consider using it.I like Marine in theory, but it sounds like the very dated Maureen when said aloud.

I love Marina. It is really pretty, but I am sure my family would hate it. I also like Marine, but I still prefer Marina.

I think about docks. I can't help it. I think it's pretty, but it's such a noun name to me. Marine always strikes me as odd, because I've got family in the US Marine Corps so it tends to be used as a generic name often for men to encourage them when they're doing something tough, "C'mon Marine", but also because it's a descriptor for marine biology. I do think it's likely nice in French though, as it is a nice sound.

I adore Marina. It's one of my faves, however, as an ex-Marine, my dh doesn't care for Marina or Marine (which I admit is kind of iffy in an English-speaking culture).

I prefer Marina to Marine. It's a relatively nice name and it's nice that it works both in western countries and in Jpns. My preferred kanji would be 真里名. (truth-village-name)

I love both. My grandma is actually named a similair sounding Maurine,
But it's more old fashion. Marine and Marina are like the modern versions.
I think I like Marina a tiny bit better but I really like both.
