I adore Geoffrey. But I loathe Geoff. And I just KNOW it'd be shortened. It's the first syllable, so very natural even to me to shorten it to it's first syllable. And I have a really bad association with a Jeff so I can't even take the chance. Otherwise Geoffrey would be way up on my list :(
