[Opinions] Ramona
WDYT of Ramona? Does it give off any specific vibes? It's been on my mind the past few days. And I loved the Ramona books when I was a kid, so good associations there. What other names would you pair with Ramona (combos, sibsets)? Any nickname ideas?

Ramona recently made it into my top ten. It's a name that had been on my mind for a while and joins many more "R" names on my list.
Originally I didn't like it because of the potential nickname Mona, but I've since gotten over that and find that I actually quite LIKE Mona! Who figured, huh?
I think it gives off a vibe of a very creative girl who doesn't mind going to school with paint in her hair and down herself, she may not be the tidiest but she by far has the most fun and isn't restricted by certain fashions or other people's opinions.
My combo for Ramona is: Ramona Belle. I also like Ramona Eve, Ramona Grace, and Ramona Marie.
Some other names on my list that I think go well for a sibset with Ramona are; Roberta; Lucia; Winter / Summer; and Arianna. :)

funny...In the Ramona Quimby books, Ramona's baby sister is named Roberta. Probably after their father Robert, but there it is. Her older sister was, of course, Beatrice, called Beezus.

I wouldn't want to be named Ramona and I wouldn't give it as a name, but I think it's great fun anyway. The Ramona Quimby association is very strong, to the exclusion of just about any other association, I would say.My husband calls our daughter Valerie "Sweet Ramona" for fun. He has no idea where he got the idea from, it just took hold when she was still a very small baby. He did say once that Sweet Ramona sounded like an old-fashioned country-western song to him.Other name off the top of my head that have the same vibe of "I wouldn't use it but they're fun" are Carlotta and Yolanda.

I like Ramona, it was one of my new discoveries when I first joined BtN back in the day that I crushed on for awhile. I think it has a nice tomboyish feel, and it's also quirky and witty and all warm colors. I like the Ramona Quimby association too. I like Romy for a nickname.Of course I can't remember my favorite sibset/combos I had with it! I think it was like Ramona Faye, Gillian Claire, and Ciaran and Louis something or other.

I like Ramona. A colleague of mine at work is called Ramona. She's Italian so I kind if associate Ramona with Italy, but I don't really get any strong vibes from it.She goes by Ro or Ro-Ro. Alternative nicknames could be Mona or Mo.

Besides making me think of Ramona Quimby, it also gives off a certain rocker vibe to me...like The Ramones. Also, Ramona Flowers is a character from the comic/movie "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World."I'm not good at nicknames so I can't help you there, but as for pairs and sibsets, some names that came to mind immediately, for some reason, are:
Molly
Alice
AvaMiles
Malcolm
TeaganI really like the name Ramona, by the way.
