Some good and some insane. And how I wish more Swedish celebs would announce their children's middle names! Older siblings are William Noah Maximilian, Mio Vincent Maximilian (hers) and Liv Älva Serafia Juni (theirs).Martin Stenmarck and Hanna Hedlund (sister to Lina H. below) had a daughter: Saga Eva-Li. Older siblings are Ida Engla-Li and Love (boy, don't know mn).Salem Al Fakir (brother to Nassim below) and Caroline had a daughter: Greta.Kitty Jutbring and Per had a daughter: Bibbi Nikki-Lo Inga-Lill Krabban. Older sister is Olivia.Alexander "Alex" and Amanda Schulman had a daughter: Frances. Older sister is Charlie Lina Lady Sunnanäng. Frances most likely has Sunnanäng as one of her MNs as well, but they haven't mentioned what her full name is.Robert "Robban" Andersson and Linda had a daughter: Chili. "KRABBAN!? KRABBAN!? What do these people smoke?"Well, it's only to be expected from someone who's added Kitty and Skura (!) to her original Anna Maria!

Carolina Gynning said she'd name her daughter after Loreen if Loreen won Eurovision Song Contest. I'm disappointed! Just kidding. Alicia Leonie is a very pretty combo. Frances is odd in Swedish, but it's better than Charlie on a girl. Are there any explanation to why their middle names are Sunnanäng? My favs:
Alicia Leonie
Serafia (but I want to pronounce it seh-rah-FEE-ah...)
(Liv)
Saga
Greta
(Finn)Ugh:
Rocky Flynn, Floyd and Florian -- Floyd is such an unattractive name.
Jackson and Presley -- *rolls eyes*
Elvis -- WHY is this so common? I hate it.
Chili and Tiger -- Not that I expected good names from him.

I've been a fan of Carolina ever since she was in Let's Dance, and now I like her even more for her naming skills! ;)I don't really know why, but both Amanda, her sisters (one of which is Hannah Widell, as you may or may not know), and said Hannah's daughters Rosa and Wilma all have Sunnanäng as a middle name. Also, Robinson-Robban once changed his surname to Drakwind for a while ... :P

Well, at least Swedish celebrities announce their kids' names. German celebs these days tend to just announce that the baby was born, maybe that the child is a boy or a girl, and that was that. No name. Well, many of them do.
(Which I totally understand, by the way. It's just, you know, a tad frustrating for the name nerd that I am. Um, yeah.)Vida Serafia Julia - I love Vida, I really do. I like Julia. And I just don't know what to make of Serafia. In fact, I'm not even sure how to pronounce it. Or, more precisely, where the emphasis goes: is it on the second or the third syllable?
For some reason, though, this combo works for me. To my surprise. Huh.
But wait! She has a sister named Liv Älva Serafia Juni? The same middle name? And Juni. So might Julia be a "variant" of Juli for her parents?
Liv Älva, as a combo, doesn't convince me. Too wordy for me, I guess. How is that combo perceived in Sweden?
Bibbi Nikki-Lo Inga-Lill Krabban - um, a crab and a lynx in the same combo? That sounds kind of like a set-up to an Aesopian fable ;)
I really like Inga, though. Cecilia and Olivia are not necessarily names I would use, but I like the sibset.Tilo, spelt Thilo, is one of the few boys' names I really like at the moment.
Oh, and I love Frances. How is the sibset Florian, Floyd and Flynn perceived? Don't get me wrong, I think all three names are rather nice, but Florian has a totally different feel, style than Floyd and Flynn to me.

Yes, very frustrating for a name nerd!Emphasis is on the second syllable in Serafia. It's their mother's middle name, I suppose that's why they both have it. It was rather common in Sweden around 1900.
Vida was born in July, so I thought it might be that Liv was born in June, but apparently not ...
Serafia saves Liv's combo IMO - it would have looked a lot like just a random line of words without it.Florian, Flynn and Floyd is one of the sibsets they usually include in articles about how weird names celeb kids have. I definitely agree Florian has a different feel, but I suppose there weren't that many Fl- names. ;) Though I'm not sure other Swedes would agree with me about Florian, it's not that common here after all ...

ThiloWhere does Thilo / Tilo come from? Is it Dutch? It looks like a Dutch variant or nn. But I can't put my finger on it.

Thilo, Tilo and Tielo (well, there are even more variants) are Northern German short forms of names that begin with the element Diet-, like Dietrich. According to my book on Frisian names, they are also East Frisian (in which case they are derived from Thiad-something names, but Thiad- is the Frisian form of German Diet-).Aw, this sounds really muddled, doesn't it? Sorry, it's late.

Aha ... I wonder why Lina and Nassim chose it though. No relation to Northern Germany as far as I know ... I guess it might just be an alteration of the very popular Milo in this case. :/

No, no. This is exactly why I come to this site. Very interesting. Thanks!

Alicia Leonie -- perfectionVida Serafia Julia -- oooh, is Serafia "sehr-AH-fee-uh" or "sehr-ah-FEE-uh?" Either way, this one is gorgeous.Saga Eva-Li -- I can't believe I'm liking Saga now. I'm not big on the flow of these names together, but I'm willing to look the other way this one time. Martin Stenmarck and Hanna Hedland, you have been warned. Greta -- :-)Bibbi Nikki-Lo Inga-Lill Krabban -- Are they kidding? Well, Inga is nice.Cecilia -- Not a personal favorite, but I'm always glad to see classics being used.Frances -- The calm, down-to-earth charm of Frances is irresistible to me. Chili -- Call the baby name police. Mahbanoo Matilda Birgitta Lakshmi -- I'm wild for the combo Matilda Birgitta Lakshmi. I keep forgetting about comely Lakshmi. Note to self: stop overlooking Lakshmi.Florian -- I know some adore it, but it's too floral for me on a boy, sorry. ***Sexist hypocrite alert** Tilo -- I need more information. It feels too informal, but then again I adore Finn so I'm keeping an open mind.Jackson -- Ugh.Elvis Diego Anders -- Oh, aren't they the cutest parents? So hip and cool -- NOTBenji -- ick

Serafia is "sehr-AH-fee-uh". :) It's the mother's middle name as well. They're so not kidding about Nikki-Lo's names. It seems the father is from around my hometown, because they had a BA in the local paper. I had to check Kitty's blog if they were serious about Krabban, and yes, she had even posted a photo of the confirmation letter you get after registering a child's name. Bibbi and Inga-Lill seem to be family names, btw. Some people (blog commentators ...) were rather appalled when Amanda revealed Frances's name, actually. It's not really used in Sweden, and they thought it sounded silly pronounced in Swedish.I would like more information about Tilo too ...

SerafiaOh, good. "sehr-AH-fee-uh" was my preferred pronunciation. It flows the best in the combo as well. Frances will take over the planet competently and quietly -- and then they'll be sorry . . . .
