[Opinions] Mavis?
I was watching "Hotel Transylvania" (kids' movie, kinda cute) where the daughter's name is Mavis. I never really liked the name but after hearing for 80-odd minutes it kind of grew on me. The kid's a teenager but you also see her as a toddler and whatnot. WDYTO Mavis? I assume a lot of people will see it as an old lady name and I kind of agree.

I fell for Mavis a little while ago. It's definitely got an old-lady vibe, but I think it's an awesome name. There's a toughness to it that's really nice, while retaining a femininity. Plus, I tend to like old-lady vintage/retro names, so I don't mind.

All I see is Mavis Beacon.

"Old lady name" is a plus in my book. :-)Mavis has the panache of Maeve and the darling "-is" ending keeps it light and energetic. Plus, a mavis is such a sweet little bird. You could even use Birdy as a nn. Or not. :-)

I support strange nicknames! Birdy could definitely be a nn!

I definitely think of Mavis as an old lady name. I love Maeve though!

I do, too. My mind keeps flip flopping between Mavis the teenager I was watching and Mavis the gray haired granny of my imagination!

Anything with the nickname Mae is awesome!! MAvis is pretty adorable. Old lady, but still endearing. Perhaps like Evelyn has become?

I don't find Evelyn old lady. But that's probably because I've been in love with that name since I was a little kid. :)Mavis nn Mae is adorable!
