[Opinions] Peyton

I'm sorry but I have never liked it for a girl. I don't find it the least bit even though I know a really cute little girl with the name.
Strongly dislike both Payton & Peyton, for either gender. For boys, they sound too close to surnames (not to mention towns) for me to consider as a first name. And for girls, they are all that, plus too masculine.
Funny thing is, though, I read in a study a while back (that I think was posted here) that women with masculine-sounding names tend to be more successful in the workplace than women with more feminine names.

Terrible. I can only think of Peyton Manning, who is a very masculine football player.
Peyton is one of my most hated names for a girl. Sorry!
It's bad taste IMO, I hate it lots, sorry. The e spelling isn't better, it's just slightly less bad because it doesn't evoke payment.
My boyfriend lurves Peyton for a girl, and I'm slowly starting to like it too. I prefer Peyton.
It really surprises me that both Peyton and Payton are in the girls' top 100. Even though I like Peyton, that makes it less attractive to me. I'm not put off by popularity ordinarily, but this bugs me. I feel the same way about Zoe/Zoey, Sophia/Sofia, and Aubrey/Aubree.

Hate Peyton. Payton's even worse.
Peyton is a surname and an ugly one at that.
There are the football player brothers and one of them is Peyton/Payton. I hear about them all the damn time thanks to some football followers on my FB.
It doesn't sound nice.
The imagery is chalky and ugly.
The meaning is lame.
It was used in "One Tree Hill" (a horrible, horrible show) for a bratty blonde and that's all I can think of now. Even though I didn't even watch the show!
This name makes me frown. It sounds to upper classy snooty. I'm just going to stop now. It's so bad.

I can't make up my mind about Peyton.
It's just one letter away from my surname (not Payton) so to me it sounds very surnamey. I don't mind Jackson, Mackenzie, Hunter or other surnames though, but since it's so close to my own I have a hard time accepting it as a FN.
But, if it wasn't so close to my surname, I would probably have liked it a lot more.

Ditto
Can't stand it, sorry. Either spelling.
I love Peyton, but only for a boy.
