[Opinions] Milena
WDYT of Milena? How would you pronounce it?It noticed it's been getting alot of traction on the name forums recently. Would it seem trendy on someone who isn't of a Slavic or Italian background?

I'd pronounce it mih-LAY-nah, I like it because it could have the potential nickname of Lena or Millie maybe? ;)
It may seem odd at first but with any name the people around the person with said name would get used to it within time, i think with so much cross pollination nowadays names are not restricted to certain ethnicities and heritages like they may have been once upon a time :)

I'd say my-LEE-nuh. I don't really like it, though - it's too close to Miley for me - but I like Marlena or Marina which are similar.

It’s common here and it’s pronounced ‘MEE-leh-nah’. It’s a nice name, but quite dated to me so I have a hard time seeing it as trendy.

I pronounce it with "LAY" in the middle and that's the only way I've heard it pronounced. I think it's a nice name, though I've never been drawn to it. That may be because it's very red to me, which I don't always find appealing in a name. Color impressions from names are hit and miss with me, though. Milena is pretty straight forward and the sounds are familiar enough that it wouldn't seem at all strange to me outside its native ethnicities.

It's a lovely name. I pronounce it basically like mee-LE-na, but with my accent, it sounds more like a blend of mee-LE-na and mil-EN-a.No, I don't think it would seem trendy on someone who isn't of a Slavic or Italian background. It isn't trendy where I live, but it's well-known enough that it wouldn't seem odd to meet someone named Milena whose ethnic background was neither Slavic or Italian.
