[Opinions] Some Obituary names
My great-grandmother's sister died a few days ago, and her obituary had some cool family names in it I thought you guys might be interested in.Lucienne Jeanne "Lu" (the deceased) and sister Rita Mary and half-sister Therese "Tressie". Her parents were Jeanne and Frank, but they were raised by their grandparents, Frank's folks Adolphus and Tharcille. Lu's husband was also named Frank and their surviving children are Joan, Evelyn (married to Donald), Clifford (married to Pearl), and Gerald. Auntie Lu alsho shared her page in the obits with:Martial (86)
Merza Oleen (101)
Julia Hortense (96)
Lauren Sylvia (68)
Lucienne Julie (76)
Ezra Jacob (17)
Winifred May (90)
Gwendolyn Ione (89)
Helen Harriet (89)
Alice Isabelle (93)
Sigmar Halli (m, 78)
and Charalampos! (known as "Bob", 65, whose wife is named Vasiliki!)

Sorry for you loss. Your family does have some interesting name; I've never heard of Tharcille (do you know how it's pronounced?) but I love Lucienne and Evelyn. "Tressie" is a nice nickname for Therese. I also like Mary, Joan, Donald, Clifford and Pearl.Fun to see Charalampos in the obits; I was just looking at the one the other day when I searched for the meaning, "happy". Couldn't find it on Forvo, though, so not sure how to pronounced. Too funny that they shortened it to "Bob" rather than something like "Champ" (I realize the "Ch" wouldn't be pronounced that way, but it's there visually, as well as the other sounds.)

The family says Tharcille like "tar-SILL". I think Tharcille might be from St. Tarsilla. I find a lot of French-Canadian names from the past are forms of obscure saints. Makes for some really neat finds!

I feel bad sometimes how much I love reading obituaries just for the names. They're so much more appealing than the names I find in my local BAs. I like/love
Lucienne Jeanne "Lu" - Love this!
Rita Mary - Very spunky.
Frank - This is an old favorite of mine that's climbing back up my lists.
Joan
Evelyn
Clifford - I'm starting to love Clifford.
Gerald - Same with Gerald
Julia Hortense - Quite pretty, which is hard to pull off in a Hortense combo.
Lucienne Julie
Ezra Jacob
Winifred May
Gwendolyn Ione
Helen Harriet - I'm surprised how much I like this. I usually think of H as a hard letter to alliterate.
Alice Isabelle My condolences on the loss of your great-aunt. I hope you and your family are doing well.
