[Opinions] Jade & Meredith ...
WDYT of Jade? How does Jade Ruth sound? On one hand I see the name Jade as elegant and sophisticated, but on the other hand I can see it being perceived as trashy. What is your opinion?
Also, WDYT of Meredith? Do the TH ending's clash in the combo Meredith Ruth?

I'm not a fan of gem/mineral names and Jade is no exception. Jade Ruth doesn't necessarily sound bad although it sounds too staccato to my ears due to them both being one-syllable.I think Meredith is nice although I do think Meredith Ruth is a bit heavy on the "th."

I like Jade, but not the other names. :)Mum to Hayley Anne

I think Jade is okay, but it's trendy. Jade Ruth does not sound good. Jade needs a longer middle name.I love Meredith, but the TH endings do clash in Meredith Ruth.

I personally don't see the fuss over Jade, but I've heard worse. Jade Ruth sounds fine IMO.I love Meredith, but it's a bit too much paired with Ruth.

I love Jade - that's Jocelyn's middle name. I like it as a name on it's own, however, I'm not big on Jade Ruth. I personally don't like the two one-syllable names together because it sounds too hard (if that makes any sense). I've never been a big fan of Ruth. The only two Ruths I have ever known have been 60+ year old women at two different churches. One of the Ruths turned out to be a very good friend to me but I still see this name as old-sounding.Also, WDYT of Meredith? Do the TH ending's clash in the combo Meredith Ruth? I think the endings clash and I also don't care too much for Meredith. I much prefer Muriel to Meredith. Both names seem similar to me in style but Muriel just sounds a lot prettier.

Jade's nice enough, I guess. I have a very weird feeling about it though: it's not trashy by any stretch, but I don't feel it's elegant either. I think the feeling I'm getting from it right now is "yuppie" or "1980s". *Shrugs* I don't know.I prefer Jane to Jade anyway. It sounds almost identical yet seems so much more timeless and classical to me.Meredith is a male name to me and, I believe, to the Welsh. But if I just consider the sound, then, yes, I do think Meredith Ruth clashes. It's not too bad though.

I think Jade sounds very elegant and exotic. I don't really like the combo Jade Ruth it sounds boring.Meredith Ruth sounds ok together but I don't really like Ruth it drags both names down imo.

Jade is not trashy in my book. It's a beautiful stone. I don't care for the mn Ruth with it, however. Ruth is too harsh with Jade.Yes, the "th" endings clash in Meredith Ruth. But if Ruth is honoring a family member, then I would still use it. Love trumps flow.

Meredith Ruth doesn't really work for me... but Jade Ruth is nice. I can see Jade going either way... but coupled with Ruth it pulls it more toward the sophisticated side."We can even learn from our enemies." -OvidMitakuye Oyasin
