[Opinions] Rosamund
What do you think of Rosamund? Is it pretty? Ugly? Too much? Just right? I think it's gorgeous; it's really been growing on me recently. What middles would you pair it with, or would you put it in the middle? If it helps, I prefer a ROSE-a-mund pronunciation, rather than ROZ-a-mund. Thanks in advance!

I like, it's got a cute, clunky vibe that I dig. It's not my very favourite Rose/a name (I prefer Rosemary, Rosalind and Rosalie...and just plain Rose), but that's only b/c I have a pretty strong (and admittedly weird) aversion to the word "mound" (shudders) and it's just a little too close for my comfort, ha! I do prefer the Rose-a-mund pronunciation as well.

Rosamund is gorgeous. It's strong and knows it. No apologies. I'm firmly in the "ROZ-a-mund" camp, but I'll take her any way she comes. :-)Rosamund Juno is my stock combo. Rosamund Eve too. Rosamund Clare is nice as well.ETA:Rosamund Victoria / Victoire

I think it's by far the nicest of the Rose names, and I also find the ROSE version preferable. Actually, I only pronounce Rosalind with a ROZ, though my friend has a Mary Rosamund which they pronounce ROZ, except they mostly don't because of it being a mn. So that's OK.I wouldn't put it in the middle! My default is Rosamund Philippa Jane, and I rather regret not being able to fit Elinor or Eleanor in there somewhere.

Ooh, Rosamund Philippa Jane is lovely, as is your friend's Mary Rosamund (good job, mama!). Thanks for the suggestion/name support!

Rosamund has been a long time love of mine, though I keep flip-flopping between Rosamund and Rosalind. I usually end up on -mund though, it feels a bit more grown up and distinguished.

Rosalind is lovely too, though I prefer Rosamund because, in my mind, it feels rather Medieval.

I find the -mund part unattractive. I like a lot of Rose names, but not this one. My favorites are Rosalind, Rosemary, and Rosalie.

Rosemary and Rosalie are lovely, too. Rosemary reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel's "Scarborough Fair/Canticle", Bob Dylan's "Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts", and Rosemary Clooney.

I think it's beautiful and I much prefer it to Rosalind and all the other Ros- names. I pronounce it ROZ-a-mund.Jane Rosamund is my favourite combo with it.

Jane Rosamund is very pretty-thank you. As for the pronunciation-well, I guess we can't all pronounce things the same way, can we? :) I just prefer the first syllable to be ROSE, because ROZ reminds me of that slug-lady secretary on "Monsters, Inc.".

Rosamund Frances, Rosamund Hazel, and Rosamund Juliet are all lovely. Thank you!

I think it's beautiful (I say it the same as you. Roz-a-mund isn't quite as nice). I really love it, though I can't decide whether I prefer Rosamund or Rosamond. It kind of borders on too much, like, I wouldn't actually want to be called Rosamund. It borders on romance-novel but it's so beautiful anyway. So I'd probably put it in the middle but if I ever actually met a Rosamund maybe that would change.Rosamund Luned

Ooh, I like Rosamund Blodwen, Rosamund Clemence, Rosamund Joan, Rosamund Sybil, Mary
Rosamund, Catherine Rosamund, Agnes Rosamund, Edith Rosamund, Evelyn Rosamund, and Lydia Rosamund. Thanks for all the great combos-you're very good at this; did you know? :)I do agree that it can feel like little much, but I feel it could work upfront on the right person.

Thanks! :) I'm so happy you like Rosamund Blodwen, I'm liking Blodwen loads right now and it doesn't get mentioned a lot. And yeah I agree, it could definitely work as a first name, especially since there's a lot of really great nicknames. I would just need to meet someone to make it seem more real, you know?

I prefer Rosamond and pronounce it the way you don't. Either way, it's a lovely name, and I like the medieval vibe relating to Rosamond Clifford. My friend is Margaret Rosamond but uses her middle name.
Rosamund Eleanor continues the medieval feel for me, as do Rosamund Alice and Rosamund Philippa

Rosamund Eleanor, Rosamund Alice, and Rosamund Philippa are all nice and medieval. Thanks!

I pronounce it the same way you do but the "-mund" ending makes it seem ugly to me since I'm used to seeing it in a boy's name (Edmund is one of my top names)
I like Rosa alone and think it's a nice fresher altnerative to Rose - which I also like tho is overused in a mn in my opinion. In fact I think I like most Ros- names more than Rosamund. Sorry but it's the mund that puts me off it.
If I had to I'd put it in the middle:
Jane Rosamund
Elizabeth Rosamund
Melody Rosamund
Mary Rosamund
Georgina Rosamund
Skye Rosamund
Brooke Rosamund
Eve Rosamund
Leigh Rosamund
:)

I do agree that the -mund part can sound harsh to some ears, but it's what gives Rosamund it's strength, IMO. (I also like Edmund. :))Jane Rosamund, Elizabeth Rosamund, Mary Rosamund, Georgina Rosamund, and Eve Rosamund are all nice-thank you! :)
