[Opinions] Estella
What do you think of Estella? It was my favorite a couple of years ago. I still like it a lot. Is it too close to Stella? Do you think the first syllable is noticeable enough so it won't get confused with Stella?Do you prefer Esther, Stella, Estelle or Estella? Could you rank them, please?

I have a soft spot for Estella, it was DH's great grandma's name. I think it would get confused with Stella, so if that bothers you, I'd avoid it. This is from the mother of a Cecilia who routinely gets Celia (doesn't bother me, I love them both). So let that be a consideration. Personally I like options, so I tend to go for a longer name and then use nicknames. Estella is great that way b/c you get Estella, Estelle, Stel, Stella. I don't know how I'd really rank the names, because I do like them all. At this very moment, I'd probably go-Esther

I think Estella is nice, however I prefer both Estelle and Stella.
Because they are so similar, I think Estella could be confused with Stella, especially if you're saying the name fast.Ranked from favorite to least favorite:

I love Stella, and this is my favorite of the bunch. My second choice would be Esther or Estelle. I don't like Estella, because I confuse that with Estrella which is a Swedish trademark.

Since it's not an accented syllable, I could see how it could be missed. I don't mind Estella though. I'd prefer the nickname Essie to Stella.Ranked:
1 Esther
2 Estella
3 Stella
4 Estelle

I love Estella. It's very icy, but still very beautiful.I don't think people would confuse it with Stella, but I think people would want to call her Stella for short. My ranking, from best to worst: Estella, Esther, Stella, Estelle

Estella has been my favourite name pretty much all my life. At least as long as I can remember. I'd love to get to use it one day.I also really like Estelle and Stella, but Esther sounds kind of slurred to me for some reason so I don't care for it as much. The only problem I have with Estelle is that around here a lot of people accent the T too strongly and so they end up saying it ess-TEL and I don't like that because I've always blended the S and T together when I say it so it's more es-STEL.I would use Estella in a heartbeat and it's my favourite.
I would rank Stella decond because of the classic feel and all the litereary associations.
Then Estelle.
Esther last.Do you like Stelara?
I always think of it with these. If I had my way, I'd name a daughter Estella Juliet or Estella Vivienne / Viviana.

Estella Juliet was my favorite combo for a long time. That's such a weird coincidence! Estella was my #1 name for over three years. Now it has been replaced by Meadow but I'd still consider Estella as well. Stelara is cute but too much like Stella + Lara to appeal to me.
