Sure, it's still usable, but I think people will think of the Jolie-Pitts regardless of the gender. It's very tied to them now, and it probably will be for a while.

I prefer it for a girl, but that's just me. It's not bad for a boy, but it just sounds more feminine to me.

I think it's in a category with names like Trinity and True, reminds me of 'the Jolie-Pitt offspring' (lol good one), and reminds me of the Neil Diamond song.

I dislike it because Shy Low ... the name is shy and low, and I feel that. Sounds childish and celebby to me.

Sorry =\ My honest opinion. Yeah it's usable, they didn't ruin it - I just didn't like it to begin with. On either sex. I slightly expect a boy, and am slightly disappointed if it's a girl named that.

Well, we could argue Shiloh (John? Peter?) Jolie-Pitt is a boy. :) We'll save that discussion for another time.

As for the Jolie-Pitts, they're famous, but they're not famous enough that years from now people are going to know and care what they named one of their many children so I think a boy Shiloh could grow up without having to worry about it.

When I hear the name Shiloh I personally couple it with the book and film by the same name (or "the Beagle movie!" as I titled it as a child, but had never actually seen it).

I'm not quite sure where the hate for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is coming from... I personally think Shiloh is a cute kid, who does not deserve the loathing being pawned off to her by people who dislike the parents.

And, finally, as a simple name itself, free of relating it to either of the above-- even though it is not a name that is inherently "my style," it is something that I love to hate.
I may say that I would recoil if I ever stumbled upon someone stating that it will be the name of their first born (it does sound rather juvenile, unprofessional, and "family dog"-esque), but deep down I want to meet someone with it. To pick a gender that I think it mingles better with, it would be male.

I see it as more of a pets name. I can really imagine a dog or horse called Shiloh, not a person.

I think it is gorgeous but personally has been inextricably linked, at least for a short while, to the Jolie-Pitt clan. I tend to gravitate towards names with long I and -sh sounds, and I also like the fact that 2 long vowels are put together so nicely and softly. It seems very feminine to me because it is so soft, and the only Shiloh I ever met was a girl: I recall that she was annoyed about the Pitts' choice as she was in her 30s when Shiloh was born. But I think a boy could pull it off (it's reminiscent of Elijah, also a pretty name IMO).

I like it quite a bit for both genders. Cool on a girl, handsome on a boy. The association with Jolie-Pitt will likely be strong, but I don't think it makes the name unusable. Especially if it's used on a boy.

For me it wouldn't be the Jolie-Pitts that would make it unusable (yeah that's an association, but whatever). For me, it's all dog. Wasn't there a kids book in elementary school called "Shiloh"? And a movie too...

Shiloh is blah. I don't like the names Angelina Jolie picks. It's worse for a boy.

I know a guy named Shiloh. I think it's usable and rather nice.

Always had a soft spot for this name. I like it on either gender. I don't know if I could use it myself. I have known a little boy named Shiloh.
