Caroline is just okay to me. I think Carolina is prettier and so is Carolyn, in a different way. I really like the name Carol, but would just use it by itself and not as a nickname.
Elizabeth is as dull as dishwater to me. Beth is cute but again, I'd rather just use it by itself if I was going to use it at all. Liz makes a friendly fun nn for Elizabeth, and Betty is a great grandma name.
