Yesterday, for some reason, this name popped into my head.
Looking at U.S. popularity, Della apparently once was relatively common, or at least not unheard-of. However, now it has fallen off the chart.
With the popularity of Ella and Bella, do you think Della has a chance of a comeback? Or do you think that current parents have never heard of it?

I really like Della! It's a bit insubstantial, but I'm charmed by its unaffected grace.

I love this name! I wanted to name our daughter this but my husband wasn't quite a fan.

I've heard of it! Della Street was Perry Mason's secretary, and I used to watch Perry Mason re-runs all the time. I don't think I've met one IRL.
I don't know if Della will make much of a comeback. Ella and Bella, along with all the Isabellas, Ariellas, and so on, may have the -ella market cornered. I can see some parents who like Della (and Nella) passing on them because they're so similar to such common names.
Della gets a thumbs-up from me. It has an earthiness and a she-sings-the-blues feel that dainty Bella doesn't match and Ella has lost. Plus, I love the nn Del for both boys and girls.

I love this name! I first heard of it because of the actress Della Reese, when she was in the show "Touched by an angel", which I watched as a child. I've loved it ever since then. I don't think it quite has the same feel as Bella, but it's similar in feel to Ella imo. I don't see it getting popular here in Australia at all. I think most parents will find it too old fashioned.
