Arya is one of my favorites.
I guess it is similar to 'aryan', but it doesn't bother me much. Unless you have blond hair, blue eyes, and are named Arya... but I don't think the name Arya would fit an aryan looking person anyway.
I like Aria too, but I prefer Arya because of its associations with characters. I mainly like Arya because of the characters in Eragon and ASOIAF, so Aria isn't as appealing and seems to lose the fantasy vibe.
I generally pronounce Arya and Aria the same, but AHR-ya definitely works for Arya (and not so much for Aria).
On Game of Thrones: I like the books. I've only seen the first season of the TV series, and that was good, but I've heard that the seasons after that aren't so much (and that they stray from the plot of the books.) I would recommend the books though.
