I notice the similarity to aryan, but it doesn't bother me much. I want to pronounce Arya as AHR-ya rather than the begining of aryan, so that's probably why.
I prefer Aria, but I don't really like either one. Arya sounds too much like "are ya," and Aria is too specifically musical for me to really enjoy it. Maybe if I adored opera, I'd feel differently. Aria has the prettier sound, though, so it's my favorite of the two.
As for "Game of Thrones," I haven't seen the TV series, so I can't say. I read the first book (Song of Ice and Fire), but I have no urge to read the rest of the series.
