[Opinions] Roberta
Do you think this could ever get popular? I used to dislike it, but now I think it's really charming. I had the same experience with Matilda. I actually think these two names have a lot in common. So as Matilda is kind of popular with celebs right now, could you imagine the same happening to Roberta?
The only thing that bothers me is that I dislike all of its nicknames. I just wouldn't use a nickname at all, which is fine with me. I'd just hope no one at school would try to call her Rob, Robbie, Bob, Bobbie, Bertie or Bert.

I love this name so much! I really hope it doesn't get popular becuase it is actually a top contender for a future daughter. I dislike all of the nicknames that you have mentioned but I think Bo is really sweet if not a little bit of a stretch. I could imagine Roberta and Matilda being sisters (they are both names on my list). And yeah, I just love it a lot :)
I love Roberta! It's starchy and brassy. I definitely don't think it will experience a popularity surge anytime soon.
I don't think Roberta will get popular.
Personally, I don't like the sound of it, probably because of the emphasis on the -bert- part. My own name, Georgia, is basically the same -- a man's name with an "a" sound on the end, but I like it better than Roberta.
I'm in my 60s and I've known one Roberta. She was slightly older than I am, so she'd be pushing 70 now.

I don't see it becoming popular. I've only ever met one. Personally, I don't find it feminine enough for my tastes- all I see is Robert.
Roberta is not destined to gain any popularity back. Unlike Matilda, Roberta had a period of relative popularity and then fell out of fashion. Matilda was never used very much within even most old people's memories, and it's a very old name, not like Roberta. So no, Roberta is nothing like Matilda and probably won't go the same way.
I don't imagine Roberta will get popular any time soon.
I know two Roberta's, 1 in her early 60s and 1 who is 23. One goes by Roberta and one by Berta
I like it, I also think it is really charming and I also dislike the usual nicknames, though Bobbie is kind of cute on a girl (It sounds so immature on a boy/man)
I'd be delighted to meet a little Roberta
