I like Robin for a boy but I think that many associate with women nowadays. Would you want to use it as a middle name?

I have always thought it was quite mannish on women and girls and felt that its use as a girl name was just a fad - now it's a totally dated name on a woman, but still classic on a man. Doesn't matter how many I meet, it's a boy name. Robin Hood, Christopher Robin, Batman & Robin. Leach, Hitchcock, Cousins, Cook, Williams. I like it as a boy name and would use it (husband didn't like it though, and it doesn't go well with our surname).

Totally usable; he can always go by Rob if necessary, which is perfectly acceptable. I personally really like Robin on a boy as it reminds me of Christopher Robin, Robin Williams, and the bird.

I know three female Robins and one male Robin. The male one got teased for his name a bit, but he's not effeminate in the slightest. Still, I like it more for a girl.

I think Robin is great for a boy. I also think it's usable, I mean why not? It's so handsome for a boy.

It's my friend's middle name and I like it on him. Did I mention his first name is Christopher?Real person. His parents really did that to him.

Shhh... it's my long time number one favourite. :)I think Robin is friendly, handsome, medieval, songstery, easygoing, clean and douche-proof. In my eyes, it's always been essentially a boys name.

It is used for boys where I live, and I only like it for boys. I find it hideous on a girl and I think it would work great on a boy as well. But you could always use Robinson "Robin" or something like that if you wanted too.

Totally usable for a boy. I think it's a tad bit boring, but it's an okay name. I know quite a few guys named Robin and only one girl. I'd highly recommend a MN that eliminates any doubt that it's meant as a boys name.Robin Ambrose

Robin Hood, Robin Williams, Robin.....
Well, it's a boys' name, and it's great! In the middle ages, 'Robert' and 'Robin' were basically the same. That's why Robin Hood is sometimes called Robert Hood. Call the kid Robin, put Robert on his birth certificate, teach him to shoot a bow and arrow, and it'll be fine.

It's usable, but only just, at least here in the US. There is Robin Williams, but in general Robin is decidedly a girls' name. I think it's cute for a girl, but kind of mincey on a boy.

Totally male and totally usable. Robert is a family name going back generations, but given enough boys I'd have ditched it in favour of the livelier Robin.Robin Edward
Robin Frederick
Robin Alexander
Robin Clive, funnily enough - I usually dislike Clive but it seems to work here
Robin Petronius, just for fun!
