[Opinions] Kristin or Kristen?
So what would everybody say the better variation is, Kristin with an "in" or Kristen with an "en"?

Kristin is closer to Christine and therefore looks more like a name; Kristen is closer to christen and therefore looks more like a verb.
I prefer Kristen. I think it's more timeless.
My neighbor is named Kristin and it seems like a name that could become dated a lot more easily then Kristen could.

Kristen. Kristen seems more feminine, like Karen or Lauren. Kristin has tin in it and seems stabby and verb-like (kristin').
Disclosure: I spent all my gradeschool years with a Kristen and a Kristin. They were both supersmart pretty "schoolgirl" types, but Kristen was more softspoken and less ambitious and aggressive. They probably influenced my opinion.

Kristen. Kristin doesn't look right to me. Kristen looks much nicer.

Kristen, but I don't really like the name anyway.
I prefer Kristen. It looks more complete. Kristin almost looks like something is missing (like Kristina without the "a").
I like Kristin, but that's just me. I would consider using it if I ever wanted to have a kid. It's a good name.
