I adore Effie. It's so cute and nostalgic.
Effie can stand on its own as an Anglicized form of Oighrig. But I prefer is as a nn and it can easily be from Josephine. Other formal names could be: Persephone, Euphemia, Felicity, Zephyrine, Josepha, Sephora, Euphrosyne, Nefertiti or Stephanie.

I love your suggestion of Persephone! I have always loved it, but never thought of using Effie as a nickname. Thank you!
