[Opinions] Ash
My new neighbors have a 2 year old son and his name is Ash. I asked if it was short for Asher or Ashley and it's not, his name is Ash. I am decidedly in the middle on this. What do you think?

It makes me think of Pokemon, so I don't like it. (Not dissing Pokemon. I like it).

I actually really like just Ash. It's got the botanical vibe which I like a lot.

I like it. I'm not a big Pokemon person, so while it does remind me of Pokemon it isn't a strong association. It mostly just makes me think of ashes and ash trees, which I think are nice images for a name. I definitely like Ash but not Asher or Ashley.

I love it. I was considering using Ashe (yes, with the e) as a middle name for my son.

I love Ash as a full name. I'd much rather see it than Ashley and I think a boy would have it easier these days if he were just named Ash and not Ashley. It was the #1 name for girls for a while after all. I don't have anything against Ashley on a boy, I just don't think it would be an easy name to have in the US.I really like Asher, especially the meaning. I'm more inclined to use Asher nn Ash so he would have a full name and one with a great meaning at that but I do love Ash on its own.

Being a 90s kid, I think of Pokemon. It doesn't seem that bad as a full name, though I prefer Asher.

I think it needs a longer form. Plus at the moment I'm really good friends with a girl called Ash (short for Ashleigh but no one calls her that), so I think it's feminine when it's really not.
It's one of my sister's favourite names, she doesn't like Ashley and I persuaded her out of Ashton (ick!). I would rather it be short for Asher, which I personally love.

Reminds me of Ash Ketchum from Pokemon. I don't like it.

I see nothing attractive about the word ash by itself. It just sounds ugly and trendy and non-name.

I like it as a nn for Asher, Ashley, etc., but it's unattractive as a full name.
