[Opinions] Hadley
I'm liking Hadley latetly.
I think it has to do with the fact that I recently learned Hadley Fraser's birth name wasn't Hadley and it made me start thinking about how/why he chose Hadley (I don't know, but I want to).Thoughts on Hadley for a boy?

Hadley is all girl to me. I actually like it quite a bit on a girl. I think it's cute and fun. On a boy, it starts to sound like a dog name for some reason. I think I would find it weird on a boy.

It sounds feminine to me because my cousin has a good female friend named Hadley. But it could work for a boy too since it rhymes with Bradley.

It's actually a girl's name to me, because the first time I heard of it as a first name, the bearer was female. The bearer in question being Hadley Richardson (1891-1979), the first wife of famous American writer Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961):http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadley_RichardsonHer granddaughter, American actress Mariel Hemingway (b. 1961), has Hadley as a middle name.

It isn't horrible. Like Bear, I don't really like surnames as first names. When they are used, though, I very much prefer them on boys, so I disagree with the other posters who said they liked Hadley better as a girl's name. It makes me think of dates (the fruit) because I grew up near a date farm called Hadley's.

I like Hadley for a girl. I can't picture it on a boy.

I like it better for a girl, but it's nice for a boy. I just googled Hadley Fraser, and he has VERY pretty eyes. :)

I've had more attractive vomit.

For me, it's a forgetable trendoid -- just another somebody-else's-Anglo-Saxon-surname. If it has particular meaning, especially if it's from your own family, then I can see it. Otherwise, I have to pass. This does not mean that I am immune from other somebody-else's-Anglo-Saxon surnames. I do use them occasionally in my combos. So feel free to call me on this in the future. But for the moment, Hadley just bores me. Sorry.
